Phil has been a long-time member of the NUJ, and is currently a member of the Oxford and District Chapel.
Phil acted as a go-between for newsroom and management when Trinity Mirror (now Reach) was making cuts to the Reading Post.
For over a decade, Phil has been working in the hyperlocal sector, and maintained his membership even when working unwaged.
While relatively inexperienced when it comes to Union activity, Phil has plenty of experience in working on committees and voluntary organisations – away from journalism – which ensure he will be able to handle the demands of the Union while serving members to create the best possible publication.
